About Valard Bearings
Who are we?
Valard Bearings was established in South Africa in 1977. Since then the company has serviced industry in the areas of mining, petrochemical, power generation, paper, sugar, steel, water, shipping as well as other heavy industries. Our bearings are in service throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. Many of our bearings are in service within the European Union.
Valard Bearings is primarily a white metal bearings manufacturer and repairer, however in view of the cumulative loss of skills in the sectors in which we operate, we also provide an on-site consulting and supervisory service.
Our Factory
Our factory is specially equipped with a custom white metal section consisting of state of the art machinery and equipment. This includes six electrical furnaces, a 2 tonne tinning tank, as well as two custom made variable speed spin casting machines. These are serviced by two shot blasting booths, 3 metre white metal table and a 3 tonne jib crane.
We also have a newly commissioned spectrometer for in-house chemical analysis and certification of all white metal grades in use.
A CNC Milling Centre and a CNC-programmable Schiess 3M Vertical Borer are other recent acquisitions to enhance our well equipped factory.
Our factory in Jet Park is 1200m², serviced by two six tonne overhead cranes.
Work we have done
We have manufactured and repaired turbine bearings for Eskom, Sasol, Engen, Rotek Engineering, Natref, as well as Sappi and Mondi. Radial and vertical units are produced for Polysius and Loeche. New manufacture and repairs have been carried out on FL Smidth, Winder Controls, and Siemag Winder Bearings.
Vertical bearing pads as well as radial bearing pads are routinely manufactured and repaired. We provide bearing solutions to LaFarge, AfriSam and PPC as well as the smaller cement producers, as preferred vendors.
